Our fall season is not quite ready, but in the meantime, here are some answers to frequently asked questions. You are also welcome to browse our class descriptions below.   • Classes begin Monday, August 17th. We’ll be hosting an open house on (date TBD). If you’d like to be notified once this info becomes available, click the button on the left and complete our fall interest form.

  • Classes are held 1 day per week. There is an annual registration fee per student) due at the time enrollment. We offer tiered (discount) pricing based on the number of classes your dancer takes per week. Tuition is due on the 1st of the month and payments are conveniently drafted from your preferred payment method on the 1st.

    There are additional fees associated with our end of season Showcase which takes place at the end of May. Costume fees are split into 2 payments in Sept & Oct. Showcase Fees are split into 2 payments in Feb & Mar. You will be notified in advance of all payment due dates and amounts.

  • Yes! We offer a $18 discount on the annual registration fee on additional dancers. We also offer a 5% discount on monthly tuition for siblings.

  • At N‑Step Dance Academy, our dress code is designed to create uniformity, professionalism, and a focused learning environment. Wearing the proper attire allows our instructors to clearly see each dancer’s alignment and technique, ensuring they can provide the most accurate corrections and support.

    We also believe dancers should feel confident and expressive, so we offer approved options that allow for personal style while still meeting our dress policy requirements.

    All required uniforms and approved accessories are conveniently available through our online store, making it easy to get everything your dancer needs for class.

  • Consistent weekly attendance is key to your dancer’s progress and ensures they receive the full value of instruction. Dance builds from week to week, and regular participation helps dancers grow confidently and stay connected with their class.

    We understand absences happen. If your dancer will miss class, please notify us as soon as possible. Missed classes may be made up in any eligible age‑appropriate class.

    If your dancer is frequently unable to attend their scheduled class, we may recommend exploring other class times that better fit your family’s routine. Our goal is to support your dancer’s success with a schedule that works.

  • We offer free trials once our fall season begins, but one of the best ways to experience what NSDA is all about is by joining us for a summer camp. Our week‑long camps for dancers ages 7+ introduce multiple dance styles, helping them discover what they’d love to continue in the fall.   • We welcome dancers of all experience levels—from absolute beginners to those with years of training. Our instructors are skilled in working with a wide range of abilities within each class and are trained to meet dancers exactly where they are. Whether your child is brand‑new or continuing their dance journey, our teachers tailor instruction to support their growth, confidence, and individual needs.

  • Creative Movement is offered to our youngest dancers, ages 3 and 4. Girls and boys will be introduced to the world of dance and music through movement and rhythmic exercises and games. This class enables the children to develop and enhance their motor skills, flexibility, strength, balance, and much more. Students will learn to use the body and imagination in a creative way to music while being in a positive learning environment.

  • The ballet/tap combination class, which is offered to our 5 and 6 year olds, is an exciting class that introduces fundamental techniques of ballet and tap. Students will learn foot control while creating fun rhythms and beginner syncopations in tap. In ballet, students will be introduced to body positions which creates the fundamental foundation for all forms of dance.

  • Ballet is a beautiful, graceful, yet powerful form of dance. It is the “key” to all other forms of dancing. In this class students will be taught barre, center floor, and progressions which will become more complex as the levels increase. We will stress the proper placement of hips, legs, and torso, while coordinating the use of head and arms. We will introduce and emphasize the understanding of the ballet language.

  • Tap is a class where boys and girls will develop strong foot and ankle skills and control; as well as, coordination, rhythm, and strength. This class will focus on speed, control, clarity, and unison of syncopated movements and sounds.

  • Jazz is a fun and exciting form of dance. In this high energy class students will learn stretches, flexibility, fundamental jazz techniques, combinations, and body isolations. Classes start with warm-ups and stretches. This class emphasizes turns, leaps, and across the floor progressions. Jazz encourages individual style and expression.

  • Lyrical is a style of dance that focuses on conveying musicality and emotion through movement. This genre of dance has a primary basis of ballet, combining the technique of classical ball with the freedom and fluidity of jazz. Lyrical is very expressive yet dynamic, it is most commonly set to music with vocals.Item description

  • Hip-Hop originated during the late 1970’s in New York City. It is a free form of street dance. This style of dance allows each instructor/choreographer to posses their individual style. Hip-Hop allows for a mixture of various styles. This high energy class allows students to develop and learn the latest steps and choreography while dancing to their favorite songs.

  • Musical Theater combines jazz technique with other varieties to create a “Broadway” style of dance.

  • Acro teaches strength, flexibility, and tumbling. Gymnastics skills include but are not limited to walkovers, limbers, handsprings, chest rolls, cartwheels/round offs, handstands, and more.

  • This class is a technique class that is dedicating to learning, improving, and perfecting technique in jumps, kicks, turns, etc. Stretch and strengthening is also combined to improve dancers’ power.

  • Contemporary dance combines the strong and controlled legwork of ballet with modern dance’s stress on the torso and also employs contract-release, floor work, fall and recovery, and improvisation characteristic of modern dance.
